OUGD401 - Contextual studies - Critical analysis of college prospectus

The opening page has no definite focal point, and is hard to focus on. The main body of text is bigger than the title more like a sub-heading and seems to only have been made bigger because there isn't enough content.

The arty photography is creative and contemporary but not very informative, and considering its the only picture on the page, seems almost irrelevant. Either more or clearer images are needed so potential students get a proper clear understanding of what they might be signing up to rather than just a 'vibe'. Also... the 'lets get sporty' section is almost twice in size as the 'lets get creative' section. Wouldn't potential arts students appeal more to creativity?

Although this image is very professional and friendly, to me it portrays the university in a business-like manner. It feels too clinical and not very creative. Also, the title is too understated and isn't very creatively presented.

Again, really nice modern photography but without any relevance to the arts, the text on the page or our university. More informative images should be in its place.

And lastly, poorly cropped images seem to be all the way through the prospectus. It isn't even entirely clear what these are images of. The unusual layout is messy and no margins are acknowledged leaving it looking unfinished and somewhat unprofessional. This is the page on Graphic Design, which i do not think is a fair representation.
